Was "Mavillo" an Oil Painter?  I have a painting on canvas which
appears to be signed by "Mavillo" and I was wondering its History.

Looking at the signature I wonder if the artist's name might be: 
 -- Amarrillo 
 -- A Marrillo
 -- A Narrillo
 -- C Marrillo
 -- C Narrillo
 -- A Manillo
 -- C Nanillo

I haven't found anything useful with any of these variations,
unfortunately. Can you tell us anything more about the painting?
When/where did you get it? How old is it? Is there anything on the
back? Anything else?

I haven't found any artist by that name. The only thing I've found is
the listing of a painting by this artist for $110 on eBay Buyers
Universe (however, it is not mentioned there if someone had bought it
for this sum):

Any possibility it's Martinez Novillo (that's the proper form of last name)

I have a picture with the identical signature.  Have you found any
further information on this artist?
