composer JOHN READ, active 1880s, please.

If the person you're looking for is the one mentioned by scriptor, I
have found a list of songs in his repetoire, and another list (which
partially overlaps the first list) of songs he composed along with
year of composition.  Would links to this information be sufficient?

Could John Read ("musician", born approx. 1855 or 1856) be the
composer in question?

In 1881 and in 1891 he was living in London.

Or is it rather John Read (born 1839, died 1920), an Englishman who
wrote and performed many songs between 1873 and 1904?
