Hi there.

I know mommies just like you! My devoted mother wanted the best for me
as I was trying out to be apart of a prestigious drill team. I was on
a Texas drill team for two years in high school during the late '90s.
So, there are different subject they may ask about.

Certainly, they will ask about her dance training and experience. That's a given.

But, mostly (they would never admit to it) they will be interested in
her extra-curricular activities. Make sure, she stresses that she is
involved in "community activities". This is a must. Also, she should
play down other clubs she's involved in, as the drill team will become
the main focus of her out of school activities. She will have to
devote her life to the squad and be available at all times.

She will want to position herself as a part of the community because
"they -- drill team leaders" believe their group is a major force in
the community, ie. fundraising, etc. This is how they want their squad
to be perceived by the community

Please let me know if you need more insight.

Thank you.

Thanks you for the comments. Sounds like you have the experience.
She will be a junior next year so we have one more tryout next year.
It is very competitive in our school (Katy is just outside of
Houston). There will be a lot of disappointted girls. Thanks again.
