Hello alienproyect, The most recent figure I have found comes from the World Tourism Organization (a United Nations agency): 16 million hotel rooms in the world. (Other pages on the Web have smaller numbers, but they are older figures.) "Joint WTO - IH&RA Conference calls for systematic approach to a new hotel classification" (4 May 2004) [near bottom of page, noting "16 million rooms world-wide"] World Tourism Organization http://www.world-tourism.org/newsroom/Releases/2004/may/hotel.htm Of course, this number is constantly changing. More hotel rooms are built; and unfortunately, an event such as the Indian Ocean tsumani can reduce the number of hotel rooms. But 16 million seems to be a good figure until the World Tourism Organization or other reputable organization publishes a new figure. - justaskscott Searched on Google for: "million hotel rooms" "million hotel rooms in the world" "world tourism organization" "million hotel rooms" "world tourism organization" "million rooms" |
