How has attendance been for New York City attractions -- mainly
museums -- been for March and April 2005. What are people reporting?

Two of NYC's lesser-known museums -- the Queens Museum, and the Museum
of the City of NY -- both seem to be doing fairly well lately,
according to some recent newspaper articles.  The Queens Museum, in
particular, scored a hit with an exhibit on Muslims in America.

The major museums all had their big spring shows out -- I can give you
a list of them, if you'd like -- but there was surprisingly little
press on the actual attendance.

A lot of the articles were looking ahead to future events, like the
blockbuster exhibit of Russian art scheduled for this fall, or a new
sports museum to open next year.

Is that sort of information useful?  Or are you looking specifically
for museum attendance numbers, and only for March and April?

Any additional information you can offer as to what, in particular,
you need, would be quite helpful to us in focusing our research
efforts.

We work at a small museum in NYC and have had a peculiar and somewhat
significant drop in attendance over April specifically, while March
was as strong as previous 6 months. We're more interested in learning
about April reporting. I'm not sure that press articles will give us
accurate answers; rather perhaps blogs or any insider commentary?
If you say all the major museums had their big spring shows, how does
it compare to last year (we compare growth month over month)? Where
there more major museum launches this year over last?
