Jerry,

You can find a fairly extensive set of K-12 music rubric templates here:

http://web.archive.org/web/20031204095752/http://www.jcsd1.k12.wy.us/Standards/Assess/MUR.htm
Music Assessment Scoring Rubrics

Not every link on this site is active, but most of them seem to be,
and lead to documents such as:

http://web.archive.org/web/20030719024425/www.jcsd1.k12.wy.us/Standards/Assess/MU/MU03-1-1.pdf
Assessment Scoring Rubric Assessment: As indicated by rubric
Course/Subject: Third Grade Music

It wasn't entirely clear from your question if these were what you are
after. Please let me know if this meets your needs.

There's also a good grouping of music teacher rubrics here:

http://www2.visalia.k12.ca.us/standards/

The underlined rubrics are the ones available online, and include 5th
and 6th grade band/orchestra, as well as 4th, 5th and 6th grade music.

For instance, here's an excerpt from the 4th grade rubric:

=====
FOURTH GRADE
STANDARDS BASED RUBRIC
MUSIC

ARTISTIC PERCEPTION

ESSENTIAL STANDARDS: STUDENTS READ, WRITE AND PERFORM NOTATION IN
TREBLE CLEF USING SIMPLE RHYTHMIC NOTATION

PROFICIENT

Ø	Ability to identify and name pitches of a treble clef staff.

Ø	Recognizes of basic staff, symbols and other musical terminology.

Ø	Perform basic rhythms and treble clef notes on a classroom instrument.

=====

Again, let me know if that's on target for what you need.

An instructional Rubric consists of 12 indicators:(sections) Standards
and Objectives, Motivating students, Presenting Instructional Content,
Lesson Structure and pacing, Learning Activities and Materials,
Questioning, Academic Feedback , Grouping students, Teacher Content
Knowledge, Teacher knowledge of Students, Thinking, Problem solving.
(Not sure if all of these indicators apply to the Elementary Classroom
Music)

I have a copy of a Rubric Maker program that features the designing of
a Grid, List, Open Column and Mixed Criteria. Each scores a 1 thru 5
with 5 being the best or indicating a good evaluation of the student's
performance. However, all of the demo Templetes are for Math, English
or Social Studies but none for the music classroom. What I seek are
examples of someone having used the Rubric approach in teaching the
elements of music--for example: singing activities, piano
playing/teaching,Utilizing Handbells or Chimes, elements that make up
music composition etc. etc--- Let me know if this clarification helps
