Hi There!
Even though I'm an old guy, I need some career advice.
I've been in financial sales for many years. Stocks, bonds, annuities, etc.
The money is great. But I need a change of pace.
I love sales. Unfortunately, I have an anti-authoritarian streak
that's actually worsened over the years. And there's no antidote!
heh heh heh
Hence, I should probably avoid sales which involve a corporate boss
and direct supervision. These might include:
Pharmaceuticals
Industrial supplies
Medical devices
Airplanes
Automobiles
Manufacturers' Reps
etc.
So here is the dilemma. When I compile a list of sales jobs with 100%
commission, fully independent, and "no" boss, I find exactly two
options:
financial services
real estate
There are clearly other options I am not considering. A 5-star answer
would be 5-7 other sales careers. My goal is to eventually become
fully independent (i.e., 100% commission, self-employed, responsible
only to the customer).
This 100% self-employment would hopefully occur within 2 years of
starting in the new sales field. The best possibilities would be high
risk/high reward, but I'll consider anything. Fortunately, I have
some money saved so I don't need a regular salary.
Unusual or "wild" ideas are especially welcome. All comments greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
