On Wednesday the 24th of July this Year (2002) I found an article
concerning a Board Meeting of a Gated Community, which had encountered
a stranger talking to a little boy, trying to lure him into a white
van. The boy and his mother had been on their way to the community's
pool, when the boy fell short for a moment, a white van had stopped
beside him and a man had asked him, if he wanted to get inside. The
boy never did, but the community members got together and discussed
the increase of safety protection.
In this article, various statements were made by the community's
sheriff and inhabitants. They were talking about CRIME and security
matters concerning the Gated Community.
I remember the Newspaper, in which I found this report was called
something like the LOUDON (or LOUDEN) JOURNAL (USA or CANADA). And the
incident had taken place some time between April 2002 and July 24th
2002.
The article was perfect of use for my screenplay, but I just can't
find it anymore.

Thank you for your research.

Thank you for your comments. But they didn't (yet) lead me to the
specific news source, which had been clearly linked then. Maybe the
link was cancelled in the meantime, because I think I used "Gated
Communities & Crime" as search references.
I am positive to have read the report in The Loudon Journal.
(Possibly not Loudoun bout Loudon).
There was a newspapers sign in an oldfashioned style (Loudon/Louden
Journal or Loudon Times etc.) on the the top left of the article.

leesburgtoday.com is definitely not the source, and I don't think it
was Loudoun but rather Loudon.

A friend of my found the hardcopy of the original printout.

It was in fact the LOUDOUN TIMES-MIRROR. Article by Jon Echtenkamp.

Thank you for your support.

This could have happened in Tellico Village, an affluent gated
community in Loudon, Tennessee (near Knoxville.)

I haven't found a news story about a near-abduction, but Tellico
Village seems like a possible lead for other researchers who may want
to give this a try.

Leesburg Today (www.leesburgtoday.com) advertises itself as "The
Journal of Loudoun County" (Virginia). Loudoun County includes some
very wealthy suburbs of Washington and undoubtedly has some gated
communities. Also, there is a chain of suburban daily newspapers in
the Washington area called the Journal, but there is not a Loudoun
County version.
