I've always wondered.....If I have the A/C on in my car, does it use
the same amount of gas if I have the fan blowing on low or high? Or
is just all about the compressor? In other words, do I use less gas
by having the A/C on low and more gas if I turn the fan on high? 2001
Mercedes SLK 320.

I would think that you'd use slightly more. But only proportional to
the amount of electricity that the car's generator would have to
generate at a higher fan speed.

I think that all other things equal, the fan speed would be a
negligible increase in power consumption.

However, if you're not recirculating the air, perhaps you'd be sucking
in more hot air from the outside, cooling it and forcing already
semi-cold air out of the interior of the car causing the AC to run
longer???
