an answer for you.

The name of the village is "Couvertpuis" -- it apparently lost the
second "t" somewhere along the way.

I'll reiterate pinkfreud's request for clarification, and also add the
following -- Would you be satisfied with any reference to Couvertpuis
during World War I?

(So far, I haven't seen any references to Couvertpuis in 1919, which
is the year after the end of the war. Nor have I seen any references
to it during the war. But these references may exist somewhere.)
Answer
There is no answer at this time.
