Hi girth182!!
Your HJT log file shows a several infections, to clean your computer
proceed as follows:
Download LQfix.zip:
Unzip it and save it to your desktop.
http://users.pandora.be/bluepatchy/LQfix.zip
Download "CleanUp!":
You will use it to clean all the temporaries files.
http://home.comcast.net/~sgould4567/software/cleanup/index.html
http://downloads.stevengould.org/cleanup/CleanUp40.exe
Run CleanUp! to cleam the TEMP files
Then reboot into Safe Mode:
-To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold
your "F8 (or F5 in some systems) Key". Use your arrow keys to move to
"Safe Mode" option and press your Enter key.
In safe mode..
Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A DOS window will open and close again, this is normal.
Then run the Task Manager to stop the following processes if they are running:
C:\WINNT\system32\picsvr\picsvr.exe
C:\WINNT\seeve.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\psoft1.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\n20050308.EXE
Now find and delete them.
"Windows XP Task Manager":
http://www.wown.info/j_helmig/wxptskmg.htm
Now close all the browser's opened windows and run HJT, then check to
fix the following items:

Hi!!
Your HJT log seems clean to me, great!!
Just two little fixes are needed:
O16 - DPF: {BA14D944-0D8C-4F16-A950-6E53EEBB558F} -
http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binaries/P2EClient/EGAUTH_1040_EN_XP.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: SharedDLLs - C:\WINNT\system32\axtodisc.dll
Let me now if your computer behavior is normal at this time.
To prevent future infections on your computer use SpywareBlaster:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
For a tutorial:

Spyware, Hijackers, and Malware":

Okay, I completed the 2 fixes you pointed out and downloaded and
enabled Spyware Blaster. However, I'm still gettting a lot of Pop-ups
from www.pacimedia.com, adserver, etc. And I'm seeing shortcuts show
up on my desktop for online casinos and such. Argh.
Here is the latest logfile.

Hi!!
We need to use some additional tools.
Download and run stand-alone version of CWShredder (free):
http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWShredder.exe
Then download, install and run Ewido Security Suite which you can download and
try for free, try to post a log file from this program:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Finally run HJT and check to fix the following item if still present:
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Explorer - C:\WINNT\system32\p4p6le7s1h.dll
Good luck!!
livioflores-ga
Post a new HJT log to see your computer status and let me know how it is working.

Everything is operating okay but I still get some annoying pop-ups at
random times. Do you think I have a problem with my firewall?

Hi!!
It is evident that your security system is very permeable, every new
HJT log shows a new pest infecting your computer. Norton is not doing
its job properly.
The new infection that you have is Adware.DEES.Process:
http://www.popupsentry.com/D/DEES.EXE-2027.html
The good thing is that someone stopped it, because it is not running,
it is only in the startup list for the next boot.
You need to fix this entry: (remember to close the browser before fix anything)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ltho] C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\dees.exe
After fix it reboot in safe mode and then try to delete the file:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\dees.exe
If it is not displayed in the C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Application Data\ folder may be you must to make it
visible by following these instructions:
"Help: How to Show System Files":
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html
I think that you must consider the use of a different browser like
Firefox or Opera, these browsers let you use less security because
they are not broadly attacked like IE yet.
Hope that this complete the cleaning. Use the clarification feature to
request for additional assistance if you need it and, of course, to
post a new HJT log.
Regards.

ceased for now. Thank you so much for all of your research, knowledge

enjoy the Internet again.
Thanks again.

Hi!!
I am so glad to know that your problems are solved and you can enjoy
Internet navigation again.
I hope that you have learnt a little about security by fixing your
computer. One thing that you must know: in my opinion (and this is a
personal opinion) Microsoft Internet Explorer is not guilty for your
problems. Due its popularity this browser is the main target for the
99% of hijackers' programmers efforts. While Firefox popularity
increases, the same happens with its vulnerabilities (more people try
to beat it).
The conclusion of this is that you must build a little fortress around
your computer with a good firewall and a good antivirus and a good
antispyware. All these tools must be updated once a day every day. And
there are very good options for free, for example the "suite" that I
use:
-Kerio Personal Firewall
-Avast! antivirus
-Ewido Security Suite (free version)
You can add the SpywareBlaster "vaccination" (with regular updates, at
least check for them).
Note that there is not always a good idea to use (running) at the same
time to security tools of the same category. For example two antivirus
or two firewalls working together could cause more problems than they
can solve. So if you want to install something different to the Norton
Security you must uninstall Norton first.
Thank you so much for the good rating and your comments.
Best regards,
livioflores-ga
