Question ID: 519791
I mowed lawns in college for a landscaping company, and earned a set
hourly rate. I am experienced with other details of small business,
and am seeking to establish my own lawn care service. I have invested
in the right equipment over the years managing my own property, and
have done work for several friends. I am now confident that the range
of services I can provide is extensive and high quality.

I have no experience with the bidding process.

This is really a simple question:(well...simple compound question lol)
How much would you (do you) pay for basic lawn service? (Mow, edge,
blow) Or feeding? Aeration? De-thatching?

I understand there are some subtleties to this process, and the price
varies from neighborhood to neighborhood. I have references and a very
professional appearance/ manner. I do solid work.

I don't expect an extensive breakdown of the bidding process, but
would like to hear a sound-off on prices and experiences, what you are
looking for in a lawn care business, etc.

Thank you for your time ;) I am in the Portland, Oregon area.

p.s. I have considered calling around locally to get the "going rate"
from other lawn care services, but would prefer to hear personal
comments/ input first.

Hi XXXX-ga,

I am interested in answering your question, but I believe
that to answer it well, your question will require more time
and effort than the average amount of time and effort associated
with this price. Here is a link to guidelines about pricing
your question, https://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html

If you both raise your price and also post a clarification here,
the system will notify me and I will take another look at your
question.

I agree wholeheartedly :)

I posted this question before browsing the site, really, and see now
that the work involved merits a higher price.

I have since googled vbulletin resources, local landscaping companies
and engaged in some polite inquiries locally.

Let me think of some ways I can rephrase this question, and perhaps I
will repost with a $10 asking price. Any mindful presentation of
pricing strategies and going rates would be well worth this (or more)
to me.

Thank you for responding :)
