Hi robik-ga, There are a couple of different definitions for arbitration that can be found at the link below: http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=arbitration If I had to put the term into my own words, this is what I would call it: Arbitration is a method of negotiation used to settle a dispute between two or more parties. The main characteristic of this method is that an impartial third party who is knowledgeable of the subject being disputed is brought in and asked to make a decision after hearing the arguments of both sides. Hope this answers your question :) Cheers! answerguru-ga |

A very nice overview of workplace ADR can be found on the Ford & Harrison, LLP website. The following link leads to their page on arbitration: http://www.fordharrison.com/fh/publications/adr_arbitration.asp |
