I need a professional looking powerpoint presentation at a low cost.
Eg: If I wanted to create a website, instead of contracting a graphic
designer that would usually take a week or two to complete (and cost
me an arm and a leg), I go to templatemonster.com and download a
website at a fraction of the cost.
Is there something similar for powerpoint presentations?

I believe Powerpoint has quite a number of design templates built
right in.  Have you looked these over?  If so, what is it that makes
them unsuitable?

you should use a software that is similar to micromedia flash. It does
not need powerpoint to run, it can be ran on almost any computer, and
it can produce a lot nicer features. You can use micromedia flash to
create a custom design to do anything you want but that requires a lot
of time to learn and work. a program that produces the same quality
and with almost on time to learn, and with many premade templates is

try google search for swish to find some examples or tutorials. its
really easy to learn also. i know your question asks about using POWER
POINT, but i wanted to give an alternative answer in creating much
nicer presentations
