I am looking for the top 1000 names in the UK. Ideally I need this
information for people aged 12-25, but even if you just got the
statistics for kids born in a recent year (IE year 2000), this would suffice.

I need to know the following information for each name:
1) how many people in the data set have this name.
2) male or female name

I also need to know the total size of the data set.

For instance the results might look something like this:

There are 1 million kids born in the UK in the year 2000. Here they are:
1) John - 80,000. male
2) Emily - 75,000 female
1000) Zanzabar - 34

I've found rankings for the top 100 boys names and the top 100 girls
names, but they do not include the numerical information you asked
for. Nor do I see any lists that include 1,000 names.

Is the numerical information essential to your needs? Or would a list
of Top 100 boys, and Top 100 girls in ranked order be of use to you?

Let me know.

Sorry but the list of top 100 boys/girls doesn't work. I would be
willing to accept a list as small as the top 500 boys and top 500
girls, but nothing lower than that. And with any list, I will need the
numerical information that I requested.

Good luck!

If pafalafa has found the same lists that I have, then the top 100
boys names and the top 100 girls names are for England and Wales only.
Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate lists (though I do not
recall how many names are on them).
