Trying to decide which VOIP provider has the best solution for my
situation. I would like the following features:
1) Ability to forward calls internationally. Ideally, with competitive
international rates as I'd be paying per minute for incoming calls
forwarded to me when I'm outside the US.
2) No Hardware device required to utilize service. Ability to make
calls from a laptop via softphone/software would be handy.
3) Reliable provider with good track record of positive user experiences.
4) RCF (Remote Call Forwarding) feature so as to update the forwarding
number from any phone (not just via online interface.) Handy, but not
required. Yak has this service.
Yak.com seems to have all of these features but I requested service
with them over 2 weeks ago and have yet to have a working account.
They claim to have technical issues preventing them from establishing
new accounts for softphone users. Additionally, I'm not convinced that
their customer support is able to adequately resolve concerns. I have
found Voip.net, which says they have "find me follow me" that forwards
to "any phone in the World" for an additional $4.95 / month? Packet8
seems to have the feature but have not verified that. I've researched
a few 800 number services that do call forwarding, but not sure about
the cost comparisons and, more importantly, the ability of receiving
calls originating from outside the US. Hoping this new single number
will be the solution to communication problems in always changing
locations. Would be excellent if you could make a comparison of the
best candidates, or a single recommendation if perfectly suited.
You're welcome to research some of the companies I've covered but I
assume there are other options I've perhaps not found. Thanks for your
help! |
