Anyone know how to write the following formula in excel? My sister in law is doing a project at work and for some reason needs to create this formula For every 1% change, result = 5% in the opposite direction Examples: 1% = -5% -2% = 10% |

If 1% was in cell A1, you could put this formula into B1 to have the desired effect: =-(A1 * 5) |

or a little simpler: = A1 * -5 |

If you are using a beginning number and an ending number, rather than having a shown percentage, this is a formula to use, where A1=beginning number, and B1=ending number. =-(B1-A1)*5+A1 |
