I believe this made for TV scary movie aired some time in the 1970's,
or possibly the early 80's but can't remember the name. Very scary,
but viewed it so long ago that many of the details escape me. It
started with a scene of a delivery man handing this woman a box (like
a florist's package). She opens it and finds an amputated arm inside.
I think the movie dealt with an abusive husband whom the woman had
killed but he didn't stay dead - or so it appeared. In an absolutely
chilling scene, the end scene of the movie showed a delivery man
handing over a florist's box, thus hinting at the possibility of
discovering another body part. Very effective.

I believe your film is "Force of Evil," which was a movie-length (100
minute) pilot for the 1977 television series "Quinn Martin's Tales of
the Unexpected."

Please let me know if this sounds like your movie:

"A man terrorizing a family who would send them boxes in the mail with
pieces or personal items from the family members that were
disappearing... the last shot is a delivery man at the door with a
package & the remaining family afraid to open the box...

It ends with a delivery man arriving at the lead female's home with a
long white box. Earlier in the film she received the same box with
what I believe was her husband's arm in it. As she stares at the box a
voice over comes on that says something like 'If you believe in the
good of mankind then the box only contains flowers. However, if you
believe in evil'...

Thomas 'Ratman' Swafford of Soddy Daisy, TN writes: 'Force of Evil.'
This was actually the premier episode of 'Quinn Martin's Tales of the
Unexpected' from 1977... This episode starred veteran actors Lloyd
Bridges and John Anderson."

Yes, I believe this is the movie I was inquiring about. I also seem
to remember a part about a well where the stalker was drowned. But
the question was -- was he dead? Memory fades and movies tend to
morph into each other. But, yes this was the movie, the plot, the
time period, and the subplot about the threatening deliveries are
exactly as you had described. Thank you!

I'm glad to have been able to help you identify your film as "Force of Evil."

As mentioned above, this was a 1977 made-for-television movie that
served as the pilot episode of an anthology series, "Quinn Martin's
Tales of the Unexpected."
