i would appreciate the researcher who was going to answer my question
to clarify it. I asked how do I get from the outerbridge crossing to
495E (L.I.E.)avoiding the Brooklyn,Bronx areas. The answer I got did
not address the question and I'd like addition clarification from the
person please.I will be driving there on 5/16

I would be happy to clarify. Since you are most concerned about
avoiding Brooklyn and the Bronx, the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, by
definition (a bridge connecting Staten Island and Brooklyn) must be
left out from this question. If the parameters of the question had
not changed, I would clarify on your previous question. Because the
parameters have changed, I will clarify here.

You indicated on the previous question that you also wanted to avoid
the tunnels. To drive to Manhattan, you would need to bypass the
Holland and Lincoln tunnels and go via the George Washington Bridge,
which means a somewhat longer drive. The other option is to take your
car onto the Staten Island Ferry.

So my question is, which way do you wish to get to Manhattan: over the
George Washington Bridge; via one of the tunnels (which I presume you
don't from the original question); or on the Staten Island Ferry? (If
you want the ferry, you can let me know about what time you hope to
take it.)

Is there a specific reason you wish to avoid Brooklyn? The Belt Pkwy.
is about the same as or better than other roads as far as congestion
goes.

I realize your trip has probably passed, though I did want to rectify
an error stated by justaskscott. Ever since 9/11, vehicles are
prohibited on the SI Ferry.

Thanks, butterfly78. I had forgotten about the suspension of vehicle
service on the ferry.
