remember what this box was about, but it listed some errors.

I.T Problem 2: My PC is running slow even though I have AVG anti
virus, zoneguard, firewall turned on, memory okay and not too many
programs on e.t.c. how can I speed it up?

Hi,

for question 1, I need more information about the current suitation so
that i can help you solve.
1.) What e-mail client are you using? Outlook express, Mozilla
Thunderbird, or webmail(ie hotmail yahoo)?

2.) What program did you uninstalled? Is it related to the software
that you are using? Or it is something of a driver?

3.) You need to specify more of question 1 in order to answer your question.

For the second question, here are some suggestions. Although it will
help more if you give a full specs of your computer hardware.
1.) You state that your memory is ok? How much? If it's 128MB then I'm
afraid it's a little small if your OS is Windows XP. I recommend a
512MB SDRAM or DDR-DRAM. Either way will do. A little upgrade helps.

2.) Did you fragment your harddrive once a month? There is a small
utilty at the Windows called defragementer. Doing so once a month
helps to speed up reading memory in harddisk, reducing seek time.

3.) Is you Drive C low in space? This often happens when there is too
little memory. Though upgrading to a bigger harddisk space is
recommended, but it is not necessary. Uninstalling some programs that
you rarely use helps.

4.) Finally, it may be that spyware or adware is in your computer.
Please go to download.com and install some spyware or adware software
to delete those files. My recommendation is Ad-Aware and Mircosoft's
AntiSpyware. Also update your AVG anti virus database regularly, so
that you are not infected by new viruses.

Hope this helps!
