Please comment about nuclear magnetic resonance and chemical shift and
what they have to do with "CYTOCHROME C". I just want to know where
they fit in purifying a protein such as cytochrome C.

As one commenter stated, NMR isn't required for the purification of
cytochrome C, however, there have been some historical research
projects that may be of interest. Are you interested in this type of
analysis or are you more interested in current techniques for
cytochrome C purification?

Ted:

They not necessary in the purification of CyC. Nuclear magnetic
resonance (NMR)can tell one about the chemical structure of a sample
(and hence its purity). Chemical shift is simply what is measured by
the NMR. NMR and chemical shift would take a while to explain, and
wouldn't advance your purification.

Are you working from a specific paper? If you post the publication
information, someone maybe able to highlight those sections in
materials and methods that would be relevant to your purification
goal.
