Does any body know what would cause an engine to fail, with the top
half of the connnecting rod bursting out of the crank case, so leaving
a big hole in it.The two big end bolts shared off; leaving broken
halves in the rod and the bolt head half in the sump. The piston was
smashed to pieces;breaking the gudgeon pin boss into two half, and the
top half of the gudgeon pin to the crown, also broken into two halves
along the weaker part of the piston; that is at right angle to the
boss.
