Hello Smindustries,

I believe the product you have in mind is ArmorCoat.

From an Oct. 22, 2004 Press Release:

ArmorCoat? Spray-On Paint Protection Clear Coat

Prevents Gravel Chipping of OEM Vehicle Finishes

?With U.S. and International Patents Pending, ArmorCoat? is poised to replace paint
protection films as the #1 method to prevent gravel chipping on all new and custom
vehicles in the automotive and trucking markets.?

(. . .)

?ArmorCoat? is virtually invisible to the eye and the 6 to 10 dry mil installation
provides significantly higher film thickness and far greater
resilience than traditional
OEM and auto body repair clear coats. Even larger stones, which can
typically shatter
an automotive paint finish leaving chips or craters right down to the
metal, cause no
damage to vehicles finished with ArmorCoat?.?

?ArmorCoat? Paint Protection Coating (Patents Pending) is a
revolutionary spray installed clear bra system designed to protect
painted surfaces in high wear areas of vehicles which are prone to
chipping and damage.?

?Never before has a product like ArmorCoat? been available as an
aftermarket option for passenger, fleet and custom painted vehicles.
ArmorCoat? is designed for spray installation as a permanent solution
to the age old problem of automotive paint chipping.?

?ArmorCoat? is spray installed at a dry film thickness roughly 3 to 4
times greater than traditional automotive clears. Areas not to be
covered are masked off prior to installation. The product is then
sprayed and allowed to air dry or is force cured, then unmasked and
returned to the customer.?

Thank you for the quick reply! This may not be the product I was
searcing for. I heard that there was a product very similar to this
that could be removed. According to this URL, the product cannot be
removed:

It is possible that I was misinformed. Was this the only product of
its type that you came across? Again,

Thank you,
chris

Dear Smindustries,

Thank you for your clarification.

You are correct that this product cannot be removed. Unfortunatley I
did not come across any other new product of this type.

Would you prefer that I ask the editors to remove my answer? That way
another researcher can try to answer your question.

Please let me know.

Thank you for your patience,
Bobbie7

Hi Bobbie7,

I heard about it from a guy that applies 3M Clear Mask film. He was
telling me about the product, but I did not want to push him about it
because it is a competing product that he does not carry. He may have
had his facts wrong.

There is no need to remove your answer, you successfully answered my
initial question. Thank you for your perseverance.
