I'm looking for long-term data on various aspects of video/electronic
gaming. These aspects could be:
how much time people spend playing (per day, per week, etc)
how much money they've spent on games/hardware (or money as a
percentage of total income)
historical revenues for the video game industry
number of video games sold
average age of video game players
others

Definitely looking for historical and long-term: the same data point
beginning in the 70s or the 80s and continuing thru the 90s and today.
One source per data point is fine but definitely needs to be sourced.

I can provide an answer that would include the current figures
relating to your specific categories and also provide some historical
perspective.

However, to provide detailed historical industry data for every year
back to the dawn of gaming would be a considerable undertaking and the
many of the figures may be entirely unavailable.

This type of an extensive historical industry report, also including
future projections, normally is sold by market research firms for
thousands of dollars.

Here is an example of such a report that you may be interested in:

I am confident that I can provide you with much useful data and a good
historical overview if you are interested in that type of response.

Just let me know and clarify your question a bit to target me towards
the most important information you seek.

Thanks,
adiloren-ga
