I can't delete my internet history.

When I go to "internet options" on my '98 view program and try to delete the "history" all that happens is the history list just blinks.Is there another way to delete the history? |

Hi fredlim, Usually what you do should work to clear the IE history, which is something else then the history of addresses you typed in to your address bar. On windows 98 machines the history is stored in a special (hidden) folder named "history". You'll find this at: "c:\windows\history". You should be able to delete all history from there. If you want to get rid of all visited adresses in the address bar, right click on you windows taskbar, select "Properties", click the "Advanced" tab, and then click the "Clear" button. Boot into DOS and browse to the Folder in the windows directory on the c drive then do a Del *.*, this will also kill the *.Dat file that wil delete the *.DAT file if you try this from windows. |
