How do I buy Berkshire Hathaway stock.  Can I buy it online?  Must I
go through a stockbroker and pay commission, or what?  I can't find
any information on their website.

berkshire B, as well as the A stock,  is listed on the nyse. you can
purchase shares through whatever brokerage affiliation you currently
maintain. fyi, today's closing price on the B shares is $2767.00, down
$7.00.

So, apparently, I can't buy it directly from the company.  Who is
their transfer agent?
