I need to compare UMLS, ICD-9-CM, and CPT-4 against the desired
characteristics of a clinical vocabulary (as defined by Keith Campbell
and JJ Cimino's Desiderata.) I have read the materials on each of
these clinical terminology systems, but don't really understand how
they work. Cimino's Desiderata criteria are:
 (Content
Concept Orientation
Concept Permanence
Nonsemantic Concept Identifier
Polyhierarchy
Formal Definitions
Reject NEC
Multiple Granularities
Multiple Consistent Views
Representing Context
Evolve Gracefully
Recognize Redundancy)
