Question ID: 521918
I received admission into the University of Virginia (Darden) and
Cornell Univeristy (Johnson) MBA programs. As I am planning to go
into investment/portfolio management upon graduating, I was wondering
which would be the better program to go to? I am only concerned about
the education (curriculum) and career placement aspects of these two
business schools.

Hello od26-ga,

Here's a site that has collected all/most of the MBA rankings issued
by magazines or various organizations. It shows that Darden and
Johnson are closely ranked on many of these.

What do you mean when you say you are "only concerned about the
education (curriculum) and career placement aspects of these two
business schools"? Are you asking about comparing the reputations of
the two schools for investment / portfolio management majors? What
criteria do you want us to use for evaluating the career placement
records of these schools? Please elaborate on the information you're
looking for. Thanks.

Thanks for looking into this. Yes, what I am looking for is
reputation of these schools within the investment management industry.
The rankings are usually based on the MBA program as a whole but
since what I want to do is very specific, I want to know which is the
more reputed.

Ideally, I would like to get some feedback which says that school X is
better than school Y in terms of portfolio management because school X
has more firms from the IM industry recruiting there; in addition, the
curriculum at school X prepares you better for real world portfolio
management than the other.
