Question ID: 522179
I have a Dell C600 laptop that I can no longer boot up. When the
laptop starts, the bios loads, then the Windows 2000 start-up screen
begins to load and then I recevied the blue screen of death that
states an error message:
STOP: c0000221 (Bad Image Checksum)
The image MPR.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not
match the computer checksum.

What do I need to do to get the laptop to boot into the Windows 2000
OS so I can get the my data off?

Let me know how this works in order topost it as the official answer
or to continue researching.

The article referrs to Windows XP Upgrade and ME 98. My OS is Windows
2000 so I need specific information for resolving the problem for a
Windows 200 system, including creating a boot disk for a Windows 2000
System and obtaining the MPR.dll file

Sometimes procedures from different versions of Windows work in
similar manners. This is why I pointed you to that article.

See the following:
"Boot Disks":
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

You can get a copy of mpr.dll file from here:
"DLL File Downloads"
http://www.5starsupport.com/info/dll.htm

So use your new boot disks and the replace the old mpr.dll file with
the new one and tell me how it works.

Thank you.
