"Chronicles of Riddick" lost money. Its production and marketing costs totaled approximately $140 million, and its estimated total lifetime gross is only about $115 million, according to Box Office Mojo: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=chroniclesofriddick.htm Here is an unconfirmed bit of hope: "Various sources from both Universal and Counting Down have suggested that Riddick 3 (Titled "The Chronicles Of Riddick: Underverse") has been in discussion since the The Chronicles Of Riddick was dreamed up after Pitch Black. Following the bomb of the Sequel, hope was lost. But shocking DVD sales revived hope. But it is unclear whether this sequel will be film or game based. Vin Diesel signed on for the 3 sequels following Pitch Black. The story has been sketchy as well. Twohy dreamt up two stories for the 3rd installment. One featuring Riddick searching for remains of his race, and the other him searching out and destroying the underverse. Universal reportedly green lit a 3rd installment but granted a budget half of the sequel so that financial losses may be less if it bombed. Twohy is still undecided to pursue game based or film based. But one thing is for sure, Riddick is returning one way or another." http://imdb.com/title/tt0296572/board/flat/18566037 |

Don't miss out on the video game. It's a real Riddick adventure, not just some cheap game with a brand slapped on it, and you won't forget who your character is. |
