I am interested in knowing how Escort Agencies advertise in the city
of London England (so you will probably need to be a UK resident to
answer).
In the US, the primary source of advertising is the yellow pages.
While the internet is popular, yellow pages garner the lion?s share of
the advertising and the response since most users are business
travelers or people at home. In London, escort agencies can't
advertise in the yellow pages, they cane merely have a by name and
address listing in the yellow pages. Given this, their have got to be
other channels they use.
For the purposes of my research, I want to know how they do this. An
example of part of this answer for San Francisco would be:
via the SF Guardian, circulation x, distributed weekly free,
advertising dept ***-***, web site www.sfweekly.com
I am interested in physical methods of advertising. I already know
they also advertise via the web, Google ad words, punterlink etc.

Ithink you are getting at what I am looking for. For example, I'd like to know:
PAPER ABC Circulation 30000, has three pages of escort ads, line ads,
contract`info 2135 any st etc.
Paper DEF etc.
I am just looking for a fairly complete list. I could look at papers
etc myself but some don't allow that form of advertising etc. so this
way is easier for me.

Dear Query,
This is not an easy task. I've managed to find the main channels,
through which these services advertise themselves. However, before I
post an answer, I would like ask you, whether you agree to the type of
information that I'll post as an answer:
(1) The information bases itself mostly on a certain source. There are
other sources, of course. My source is a "tourist guide" type of
publication, not a market research. I've failed to find a serious
market research referring to this question;
(2) According to the Google Answers Terms of Service, one cannot link
to sites containing explicit "adult" or pornographic material. Some of
the places, where these services advertise, could be considerd as
"adult", and their websites, accordingly, could not be linked here. I
could leave instructions on those cases, on where to locate these
sites by yourself.
Would you like me to post it as an answer?

Hi Politicalguru:
I know their is lot's of information on punterlink etc around how to
find an escort etc. I'm interested in the question from the standpoint
of an escort agency ie what are the best vehicles's to advertise in.
so, in my question, that's why I used the yellow pages in the U.S. as
an example. In that vein, some of the comments below are in the right
direction ie places that allow advertising. So, the answer I'd be
happy with would cover most of the media types and something like :
Newspapers:
Sport - Daily - Cost 50p, 3 pages of listings, website
www.sport.co.uk, advertsising dept 123-6789 etc
etc, etc.
If you can work backwards from these "tourist guides" to get that type
of information, that would be perfect. the only place I don't need
help with is the internet since I can google "london escorts" and all
the variations to see which sites rank well and I already use google
adwords in other cities. So, shouldn't need to link to an adult site
per se, you can leave directions if appropriate. In conclusion then,
an answer based on the format above would be acceptable regardless of
source, key element would be completeness.
