Hi. I use Netscape's email utility with Netscape 7.1. I recently had a hard drive crash. I kept all my Netscape email in a folder on my C drive named "mail." Almost all of the files on the hard drive were recovered -- including older inbox and sent files that I had archived in the "mail" folder -- but my most recent inbox and sent files containing important and not-yet-backed-up email were missing in the "mail" folder. I searched through all recovered files regardless of name or location and none of them were the missing inbox or sent files. What was recovered in my "mail" folder were the most recent inbox.msf and sent.msf files. My question is whether the data in the inbox.msf and sent.msf files can be used to initiate a recovery search on the hard drive to recover my lost inbox and sent files? |

I might be wrong, but I don't think so... I just took a look at an msf file on my computer, and it seems to only store the headers - who the email is to and from and the subject - but no message content. |
