Where can I find statistics, including books and magazine articles, which measure the import and export of intellectual capital to/from the U.S., China, India, etc., to include an annual balance-of-trade deficit/surplus in intellectual-capital flows, measured in dollars? This is analogous to the calculation of the balance-of-trade deficit/surplus for tangible goods. The statistics I seek will measure the flow of intellectual capital in major job categories -- e.g. computer programming, business modeling, design of highly-automated automobile assembly lines -- and will provide insight into the net outsourcing or insourcing of intellectual work. |
