I recently sold my home. The realtor neglected to have a follow up home reinspection conducted. Electrical problems were found a month and a half after escrow closed. Am I liable to pay for any repairs? |

From the term "Re-inspection" it sounds like there was a known problem that was supposedly fixed? Did you agree to fix it? Did you claim that it was fixed? It sounds like there are relevant facts that have been omitted - you should talk to a lawyer. |

If you and your buyer signed a disclosure agreement and you made no representation to the seller of problems, it is not your responsibility to fix anything, unless you knew of a problem and withheld disclosure. If your or the buyer's broker made a representation it is their problem. Home inspectors are not engineers and not binding. Get a lawyer if it becomes a problem. If title has passed and you have not commited fraud by misrepresntation or ommission, the new owner of your house is stuck with the problem. |
