Is it legal for a company to have a system that any employee can log
in to to see any other employee's birthdate INCLUDING the year....AND
the system also displays the birthdate, including the year, of the
employees' wife and
children

Is it legal in the United States.  My employer is headquartered in
California but employs individuals all over the country.

Any question that begins with "is it legal..." needs to specify a
location. Many practices may be legal in some places and not in
others.
