hi texmike17: The answer: you'll have to wait 30 days from your divorce decree - unless you're remarrying the person you just divorced. Texas Marriage License Laws URL: http://www.houstonsweddingguide.com/editTXMarriageLicLaws.html Quote: "A person may not remarry in Texas within 30 days of the date he or she has been divorced by a decree of a court of the State of Texas unless the applicants are remarrying each other or the prohibition has been waived by a court order for good cause." Summary of State Laws on Divorce and Remarriage URL: http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/divorce_laws/divorce_and_remarriage/index.shtml Quote: "Effective 1/1/74, if either party to a divorce marries a third party within the 30-day period immediately following the date the divorce is decreed, such a marriage is voidable and subject to annulment on the suit of a party to the marriage if the suit is brought within one year from the date of the marriage. However, the parties divorced may marry each other at any time." Search Strategy (on Google): * remarry "after divorce" texas * remarry "divorce decree" texas Hope this helps! websearcher |
