How crowded with tourists is Venice going to be between May 29 and June 4
(as a fraction of the crowding at the busiest time)?

According to Frommer's, this *is* the busiest time:

http://www.frommers.com/destinations/venice/0067010027.html

"Few cities boast as long a high season as that of Venice, beginning
with the Easter period. May, June, and September are the best months
weather-wise, and therefore the most crowded..."

So this pretty much looks to be part of a lenghty peak season that
you'll be part of.

What other additional information do you need to make for a complete
answer to your question?

bugbear-ga,

I'm glad that information helped, and crowds notwithstanding, I'm sure
you're have a great trip.

There will be a festival in Venice -- the Feste Cortese -- on June
4th, if you're able to catch it. There's a bit of information about
it here:

Let me know if there's anything else you need in the way of
information to prepare for your trip...I'll be happy to assist you in
any way I can.
