Lists (or directories): where can I buy such? The quality of the list
data must, of course, be deep enough to include size (I'm looking for
sales >$3mm and =< $100mm), and name of CEO and marketing chief),
OK-fine, but the hard part, for me, has been to distinquish between
"manufacturers", "providers(?), etc, and distributors. |

Hello -
I have verbally confirmed with a company as to their ability to supply
you all the data you're looking for. My only concern is where you
mention "other than by SIC" in the subject of your question. These
records are indexed by SIC, but there's no problem breaking out
wholesalers and distributors (considered essentially the same thing)
vs. manufacturers. Will you accept this as an answer?

Thank you, jbf777-ga: no, not an acceptable answer. "Other than by
SIC" is the punchline, the essence of the qualification. There is
indeed an impossible "...problem of breaking out..", because (I buy a
lot of lists) the depth of information available from b2b-list-sellers
is far, far, less than 99% say, far, far, less than some much smaller
percentage. The same firm's depth for a consumer-list-seller might be
satisfactory, but I have no ambition for consumers. "Other than by
SIC" might mean, perhaps, trade journals of "distrubutors of tools,
machines, instruments"; or industry associations.

Thanks for the additional information. Can you elaborate on what you
mean by "depth of information?"

Depth of information: compare-&-contrast (1) consumer, new residence
address within 30 days PLUS low-to-mid-range-economic zip code: good
market for furniture-on-credit; or high-economic zip code: good market
for renovation, expensive carpet::: vs. (2) business subscriber to
trade journal "ON-SITE INSTALLER", qualified septic-tank/field
contractors. The advertisers in those magazines do-or-do-not offer to
send prospective customers a catalog. I'm looking for distributors
(".. of tools, machines, instruments ..") because most of them require
catalogs. So much for compare. IN CONTRAST, a visit to one of the
planet's most-aggressive list vendors, InfoUSA.com, offers a list of a
thousand distributors in salt-water-states refined to TWO-digit SIC
(which is only admirablek, but it does not feed my bulldog. The
process of assembling such a list cannot be characterized as likely to
include the question: what is the page-count of your catalog?

Still there, jbf777-ga?
If so, I invite you to review my CLARIFICATION, this hour, regarding
another question I have posted ("Trade Associations").
If not, please advise that you have dropped the question.

Hello -
I don't know if you're going to be able to find precisely what you've
outlined outside of a B2B list provider, especially the income and
CEO/marketing names data. The industry standard classification is SIC
-- and member organizations, if they disclose anything at all, would
most likely only have name and contact info available. You can leave
this question open to see if someone has any alternatives for you.
