Is there any way to get intraday charts of the India Sensex and Nifty
indexes on 17May04 (the day of the big crash)?

For accessing intraday charts for 17th May 2004 (feed dates at urls provided):

i)SENSEX: 
please visit  http://charting.bseindia.com/charting/index.asp
you need to use BSE30 Sensex option and voila you have it...

ii) NIFTY: 
please visit http://www.nseindia.com/content/charting/HistIndexChart.htm
you need to use S&P CNX NIFTY option and eureka you get what you wanted...

I am researcher who doesn't have have access to answer option; hence I
have used the comment option.

Google has tentatively stopped registration as Researcher to provide

                Actually I had witnessed that Black Monday Crash right
in front of my computer Screen. (Fortunately I had sold most of my
holdings just few days before that). I am giving you 2 links where the
intraday chart of 17th May 04 BSE is given

Actually these are 2 files i have uploaded in the geocities account
especially for you. These shows the intraday chart of BSE on 17th may
and the intraday chart of the week 17th-21 May 2004.

Summary of Black Monday : - When the market opened at about 5000-5100
at 10:00 Am ...in 15 minutes due to heavy selling there was a lower
circuit on market down by 10% or about 500 points. Then for abt 1 hour
trading was stopped. Then at abt 11:30 market again opened and again
there was a 10% or abt 300-400 point down lower circuit within 5
minutes and market touched a low of 4227. Now the trading stopped for
2 hours as it is a rule. People were on the roads and the news
channels were full of market crash news. Then when markt opened at abt
1:30 people were fearing of another lower circuit but the market rises
with the help of domestic institutions like LIC and gained over 400
point in few minutes...after that market consolidated for about 2
hours and still closed finally at 4500 i.e much below the earlier
close of abt 5050. Hence first time in indian stock market history
...witnessed a sigle day fall of more than 800 point at a moment.
Fianlly down more than 500 points.

                   ONGC: Open - 820 Low - 590
                   HPCL: Open - 450 Low - 250

chart is not clear enough for my purpose.

              I couldnot found the Full Screen chart. But I think the
chart i have given can give you the picture that how the sensex moved
on that day. Nifty followed the same pattern. But tell me why u need
this chart because I can find this chart but with some days search
among friends. What are you doing?

I need the full intraday charts for a project that I'm involved in.  I
