Hi GA, I have an American web shop. Now I would like to accept credit cards from the customers. What happens if a card is accepted and correctly charged, but then it turns out that the customer cannot pay his invoice? Is the credit card company (or the bank) paying for it or do I loose the money? Is it the same with all solutions? A quick answer will get tipped! Regards, tornell |

The credit card charge would go through and you would get paid and the credit card company would be out the money if it went unpaid. If the customer disputed the item / claimed that the product or service was not completed as agreed then you would be out the money until you can prove yourself to the credit card company. But to help you, you would be paid if the customer did not pay his/her bill. |

Hi and thanks for the quick answer! This is what I thought, but I just wanted to double check. I also have a web shop in Germany and there the situation is different. There the credit risk is not over until the customer has paid the credit card bill, which I think is very strange. Maybe this is one of the reasons credit cards are soo less common in Germany?
