1) What was the domain name
2) check a whois directory and see if the information appears

Your registrar is probably not the one that has "disappeared from the
internet" Most likely, a reseller for a registrar has gone out of
business. Do a whois search for your domain name, then contact the
registrar listed in the whois. What is the domain name?

Reply to webklicks,
This is a question I supposed, because I want to register a
domain name, I want to know if the registrar go down, and could I
claim back my domain name? and there is another question, the
information in Whois directory is open for public, everyone can see
it, right? How can I prove this information is me? There is no ID card
no. or anything unique in the world. I think this is a very important
problem when I want to set a company and get a domain name for my
company.
