Hi Borange,

This site gives a three-page overview of Afro-American artists,
mentioning solo exhibitions and collections, so it would seem that it
would have mentioned if there had been a major or solo exhibition at
the NY Met of paintings by Afro-Americans.
http://www.blacklightonline.com/evanstibbs1.html

This site from Michigan State University Library lists many books and
exhibit catalogs on the subject, with the following under "Special
Events":

http://www.lib.msu.edu/pubs/subject/su40.htm
"Harlem Renaissance
Harlem on My Mind. F128.68.H3 S3 1995 EXH. The landmark 1968
exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; this edition includes a
foreword by Henry Louis Gates."

But it was also not a solo exhibition.

It would seem that this "selected bibliography" an Afro-American
women, based on the Smithsonian Institution's library, would have a
catalog from the Met if there had been an exhibition.

http://www.si.edu/resource/faq/nmah/afamwom.htm

It would also seem that this site and the bibliography that includes
catalogs would have mentioned such an exhibition.

http://web.ukonline.co.uk/n.paradoxa/pindell.htm

I looked several other places that looked like they would have
mentioned such exhibits, but they didn't.

It seems that the dates you are asking for are still in the future.
