Why are there so many questions not answered?

I have posted an interesting question addressing a common problem to many others: "Marketing and Promoting a Music related site." I have seen detailed answers to 2$ questions, so it could not be a pricing issue. Should I post my question somewhere else? |

Your question, "Marketing and Promoting a Music related site," is quite complex; it calls for business-related judgment and recommendations, and is outside my areas of expertise, so I cannot be certain why you have not yet received an answer. You might do better if you broke into several smaller questions. Multi-part questions are rather daunting, since a Researcher must successfully answer all parts in order to receive any compensation. Incidentally, when a Researcher gives a detailed answer to a $2 question, this is often because many of us are willing to accept lower wages when a question is genuinely interesting, and is related to our personal interests. I once spent several hours answering a question related to the Rubaiyat, one of my favorite literary works. I earned $1.50 for my labors. Obviously, in this case, I wasn't very money-motivated. The customer never bothered to give me a rating, so I have no idea whether he or she found my work to be pleasing. But I had a good time, and that counts for something! |

Hi Nelias, This is an interesting question, and probably someone will post a reference to an earlier, similar question. As a commenter, who cannot "answer" questions, my impression is that there are several factors involved: Some questions are too low priced for the effort; Some don't deserve an answer (homework and the like, and "joke" questions: i.e. "dfkasls" to make up an example); Some - such as yours - may defy an answer. Maybe there can be suggestions towards one, but they are just ideas. How to promote anything on internet is a subject that really cannot be "answered". Some - guite a few - questions are answered by comments, maybe not completely but so that the questioner cancels the question. (Yes, I'll brag: a $200 Q was cancelled after I posted a comment. Would have been nice if he/she had said thanks. :-( ) And there are some questions that people suggest could be better answered elsewhere, often practical, mechanical, how-to questions that a forum of people with experience on the subject probably can answer immediately. Amd finally there are quite a few questions from within the G-A "community" that may not expect an "answer", but they inflate the proportion of unanswered questions. But maybe you will get more suggestions. Regards, Myoarin |

Thank you guys for your interesting comments. To Mr. pinkfreud-ga: I agree with your saying that my question (the original one)"is quite complex". But we here are basically having an open discussion, asking for advice, not true/false answers, and so it's all opinions and suggestions without any judgment of what's correct or wrong. I therefore do not necessarily expect a complete correct answer. Most postings here do come from intelligent smart people, usually somehow experienced with the concerned matter. So I will always be grateful to any help and advice, even if it does not appeal to me, because people have their time and energy usually expecting nothing but a kind response of appreciation. I will take your advice, and if no answer is posted in following days, then I shall break my question into several smaller ones. To Mr. Myoarin: I have really being trying very hard to find ways promoting my site. Since promotion on the internet is a hot interesting issue, I have assumed that I would definitely find here some good advice. I am surprised that nobody has taken the challenge of answering, or commenting. I would prefer (as most other askers) get an answer, but as you have already mentioned, some of the comments are really as good and complete as the Google answers. I know that from my own previous 100$ question that was very well addressed by some real good comments. So please all of you do get yourselves involved and reach out with your thoughts and advice. Thank you all, Nissim Elias |

I'm sorry, please accept my apologies. Now I would have no way of knowing that ahead, would I? So let's get some serious response to all those good questions not yet answered, or commented. Myself, I have rephrased my original question, and broken it to several questions, yet to see any response (see above at 23rd of May ? my three split questions on SEO, Promotion, and Site review). Come on all you smart people, let's see some action going on this sleepy board. Share your wisdom, and earn some appreciation. Thanks, Elias |
