I live in Michigan. I am tossing around the notion of suing my
ex-boyfriend for money he owes me. I have a promissory note for part
of it, but it does not have a certain repayment schedule, like "pay
$250 a week and have it paid off by April 200x". Actually what it
says is "promise to pay ___ a week starting___ till paid in full" I
also have checks that say on the memo line "loan," apart from this
note. And charges on my credit card that he made. Thing is, I don't
have the receipts with signatures, so I can't prove the credit cards
bit.
So:1. is the promissory note enforceable without a deadline?
2.Is there any way to prove the credit card transactions?
3. Is there a limit to the # of times one person can take another to
small claims for similar cases? eg, different times he borrowed. You
see, he owes me waaaayyyyy over the $$ limit for small claims, but
instead of going to circuit(because i'm scared to do that, don't you
need a lawyer? I can't afford a lawyer!!), i thought i might go to
small multiple times.
4.how do you write a complaint for something that happened gradually
over a period of two years, especially if you don't remember the exact
details of each time?
