Wage data for Utah (not specifically Salt Lake City) for 2003 shows a
landscaping supervisor earning anywhere from $10-$25 an hour, with a
median wage of $16.82/hr.

Is that the sort of information you're looking for?

Yes, I was hoping for the data to not have such a high deviation, but
I understand it's almost impossible to narrow it down because there
are so many variables at play. Thanks for you help!

Thanks for the feedback.

You can see the Department of Labor's information page for Landscaping
Supervisors here:

There's a lot of info here. A link to salary information is at the
bottom of the page...just select 'Utah' from the pull-down menu.

I haven't yet posted my information as an 'official' answer. Before I
do so, I just wanted to check with you to see if there's anything else
you need? If so, let me know.

Thanks,

paf

From personal experience, the answer is: what ever wage is negotiated
between the foreman and the boss. You can bet the boss would like to
pay the foreman minimum wage, and the foreman would seek employment
elsewhere as a result. Proof the foreman can earn the company profits
means a better probability of higher wages, but you have to pay dues
and prove it to the owners. Take the wage of the lowest laborer in the
Landscape trade, add fifty cents to a dollar per year of back breaking
experience, you get the average (non-union) wage out west.
