Question: What are the Costs and Options for ASP Mapping Services?

Part 1: What is the basic pricing/features of the varoius ASP web
mapping solutions online? (rough pricing is ok for ie..~$5000)

example use would be a "basic package" for a commercial real estate
company, wishing to display a database of 100 locations on an online
map. maps can be integrated into customer site or a stand-alone app
at third party site.

possible suppliers include, but are not limited to:

1. microsoft mapPoint web services - confirm $4000 for 500k map draws?
2. esri web services
3. mapquest.com
4. map24.com
5. others? -

Part 2:
Flash map providers such as:
   www.generatormap.net
   www.flashmaps.com
   www.USFlashMap.com
   www.maponics.com
   www.maps4.com
   www.mapsengine.com
   www.mapgenius.com
   ...others.
note: please note if geocoding (jump to address) query is available,
or just simple zoom/redraw navigation.

Part 3:
Price and Options for "do it yourself" map server software & toolkits,
such as below (with answers where I know them:)
1. mapinfo.com - mapXtreme java edition
2. esri.com ArcIms Server
(would call this map toolkit/server: $30,000 + $30,000 teleatlas map data)
3. autodesk mapGuide software
   http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=2995478
4. http://spatiallyaware.com/Default.aspx?tabid=24&mastercategoryid=2
(would call this map toolkit: cost for usa ~$7000/includes usa tiger maps)
5 http://www.aspmap.net/aspmap.htm $399 (vectors included?)
6. etc...

Part 4: Cost from Image Map Providers (cost per image map + minimum
for 50K-500 image maps per year...dont worry about specifying
coverage)

1. www.globexplorer.com
2. www.aerialsexpress.com
3. www.realbird.com
4. ...others.

typical info I'm looking for includes:
1. pricing for "starter package" and what that includes (usually X
number of map draws, geocoding, etc.)
2. Is there automated client data upload (from something like a
lat-long excell database/.shp file)
2. are there any extra initialization fees?
3. is map data included? (tiger/teleatlas/navteq/other)
4. geocoding (address lookup) available? included? or extra? - cost?
5. routing (driving directions) available? included? or extra? cost?
6. ability to add airphoto/images available? cost per volume? (target
50k-500k images per year)

please contact me for clarification and better scope/info
and there's a bonus for answering all sections.
-thanks for the help!

Hello webmapper-ga,

I recently worked on a related question but I don't think I could do
justice to your question at the price you've set. As a new user you
might find it helpful to check out these links so that you can have
the best possible Google Answers experience. I suggest that you either
reduce the scope of your question or increase the price. Good luck.
