Can you tell us precisely what you mean by "under surveillance?" This
phrase can mean many things, from "being looked at" to "being tracked
electronically via a hidden monitoring device."

I think you mean distronic

Distronic 
A distance-controlling tempomat operated by radar automatically keeps
the correct distance to the car ahead. The radar sensor typically is
hidden in the center of the front grille, e.g. behind the grille-star
in the CL-Coupes (C215) and the SL (R230).

I think mercedes start with instaling these devices into car.
