There is a lost play by Thyestes, written by Quintus Ennius. There is also a 1950s Benedictine Monk named Father Ernetti who developed a chronovisor and claimed to have been able to bring back across time portions of this play in Latin. Where can I find the text of this lost play?

Hi. I don't know exactly what you are looking for. If you are looking for the text somewhere on the web, I'm sorry to say but I haven't found it. If you are looking for Quintus Ennius real play, you will not be able to find. It is indeed lost. But if what you want is the text that Father Ernetti "obtained", then you can find it in this book: "FATHER ERNETTI'S CHRONOVISOR The Creation and Disappearance of the World's First Time Machine" by Peter Krassa, ISBN 1-892138-02-6 $16.95 Ill 224 pp. Here are some reviews for you to read: http://www.newpara.com/time_travel.htm http://www.ufocity.com/arcturus/0400arc.cfm The books costs $16.95 all over the Internet, but I found it at Amazon with $12.99. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1892138026/qid%3D1028901446/202-2235411-7823041 At Half.com is costs even less: $12.71 http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid=528746&domain_id=1856&meta_id=1 Search terms used: Thyestes "lost play" Krassa, Peter. FATHER ERNETTI'S CHRONOVISOR After that I simply knew that the best prices for books are at Half.com and Amazon.com. Thank you for using Google Answers. Regards, ldcdc-ga

Hello estela5-ga, ldcdc-ga has answered this question. The alleged fragment is discussed in the book on Chapter VII. You seek either a fragment of Thyestes from the ether captured by Father Ernetti, or a fragment from the gifted mind of Father Ernetti that would be disputed by the plays author if he could return. Trained in science and boiled in religion and spiritualism, I can only offer that this is a fun read(the book) and according to the book reviewer totally enjoyable. I love Fantasy and Science Fiction. In fact, much of Well's science fiction became reality. The idea that thoughts from thousands of years ago or even seconds ago are kept in an etheric repository is interesting, but it remains a fiction. I wish I can remember where I left my car keys much less the play of Thyestes. "A huge reaction set in when Ernetti claimed to have photographed the crucified Christ and when the photo was proven a fake. Ernetti was a man of good repute, and Mr. Krassa examines why an honest man would lie in this way" http://www.newtimes.org/issue/0101/chronovisor.htm ******************************* Lucius Annaeus Seneca's Thyestes Translated into English by Caryl Churchill Directed by James Macdonald http://www.didaskalia.net/issues/vol1no3/keen.html ************************* This fragment you are referring is apparently in the book:"FATHER ERNETTI'S CHRONOVISOR: THE CREATION AND DISAPPEARANCE OF THE WORLD'S FIRST TIME MACHINE" on Chapter VII. From what I have briefly read on Father Ernetti, this is the alleged fragment of Thyestes lost play and also, apparently, a fragment from the creative mind of Father Ernetti who definitely was a gifted intellectual. VII. THYESTES: THE ERNETTI FRAGMENT 37 http://www.newpara.com/time_traveler.htm FATHER ERNETTI'S CHRONOVISOR: THE CREATION AND DISAPPEARANCE OF THE WORLD'S FIRST TIME MACHINE I hope you enjoy the book. I believe I will check it out of the library and love it myself. Padre Pio's biography is another favorite of mine. Brad-ga |
