We own an Apple G5 Xserve which hosts important documents on the web.
We recently bought a "Secure Site" SSL certificate from verisign but
are having problems installing it on our G5 XSERVE running the tiger
OS.

The top of our web page has a login area. We need the web areas after
login to all be secure pages, "https://" however we want the normal
webpage (prelogin) to all be in standard "http://" protocol. We also
want the login query to be secure. Currently our PHP programmer is
working on installing the certificate but says it will not install
correctly. He is trying to install "https" protocol via port 443. A
side note is that all the pages after login are php, while the
prelogin pages are htm.

We want to take the matter into our own hands, but do not have the
technical literacy or experience to do so. Can someone please post a
detailed step-by-step tutorial on how to install a verisign SSL
certificate on this particular server, running this particular
Operating System. The certificate has already been generated for this
server. We just need help installing it. We need the instructions to
be extremely comprehensive, that makes it easy for any normal computer
user to follow. Again, it must be for an Apple G5 Xserve running
Tiger, because our programmer says he has it working fine on the G4
XSERVE, but he is having problmes with the G5. Thanks

http://developer.apple.com/internet/serverside/modssl.html

disregard the part about 'self-signed' - but the procedure for
installing is basically the same. OR

Key and Certificate"
