Hello, I am working on a workflow management systems scheduling project. We have developed a robust scheduling engine for centralized workflows ( ie., local and not distributed). The technique adopted is from advanced Operations research. Our appraoch : Modeling the scheduling problem of a WFMS as a Mixed integer linear programing model and solving it by Branch and Price algorithm. But, I would like to know more about the ways in which scheduling is done in WFMS. The questions which I seek answers are listed below... 1) I would like to know various scheduling methods/approaches out there which are used to schedule jobs/tasks in a workflow management system. Here "out-there" refers to 'research' and in industry. 2) I would like to know what scheduling approach is suitable to a particular scenario. For eg; we can use agent technology for a distributed scenario but for a centralized environment ..a scheduling algorithm does the job. In a nut shell I can say that I want to know job scheduling methods in WFMS and information on the methods/appraoches used in current WFMS commercial products. I would greatly appreciate if a qualified researcher takes up this question. I would increase my price when I know that the question is being well understood and is answered in the right direction. |
